I remember being annoyed at the man in the shirt walking into my photo, left me feeling frustrated at the thought of losing a good shot. In my mind, the man was a distraction from my main subject in the photograph. Looking at it now in print, the man in the background made the picture. Modern and Tradition are the key themes emphasised here through two persons. We have the old man in the foreground in his traditional clothing turning his back away from the modern changes occuring in Egypt emphasised by the modern man in a shirt.
